Your statement is either a little romantic or rhetoric. I think it is rhetoric and may not represent reality of their situation in a meaningful way. You make the Angels out to be more closely akin to modern day surviorists that you would find in Montana(am I talking about you Hogryder, please don't take offense).
The Hell Angels in the 60's and 70's in New York lived on the edge and generally were over the edge with respect to the law. This statement is from personal experience and more from experiences of a crazy cousin of mine. Maybe I am being prejudiced by my urban experiences.
Additional experiences with the Outlaws in FL paint a far worse experience. They were (still are?) an outright gang.
I don't think there is anything rightous about living so far outside of society that you no longer make any positive contribution to it.
How am I doing stirring the pot?
